Day 1: The Trinity

May 12 • Bible Reading from: John 14:15-18, 23-26 The Trinity.

Belief: "I believe in one God: one in essence, three in person: Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit."
________________

Texts:

"If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you…

... Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. "All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

______________

Take a minute:

How do the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit work together in us?

Appreciate the multidimensional nature of God and thank Him in prayer.

Looks like I get to claim "first comment" (which is nothing like "the last word.")

The things that stuck out to me this morning when I read this one from John, was that all three of God's 'persons' were teamed-up - working for OUR good. That's pretty amazing seeing as they're God - and can spend their time and vast energy on anything... using it on me and you.
He really does love us doesn't He?

Father: giving gifts to us - including the 'counselor' (Spirit)
Jesus: praying for us and for our spiritual needs, to his Father.
Spirit: staying with us always present and also bringing back to us Jesus' teaching.

All for our good. All voluntary.
God is good.... to me.
